Pumpjack Dataworks (PJD) has developed a data platform tuned specifically for the Sports industry, to extract and refine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party data sources and optimize it for clients to understand who their fanbase is, and generate direct & indirect revenue streams. We're already working with top tier teams such as the Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia Eagles, Inter Miami CF, ATP, Hong Kong Rugby, Williams Racing, World Table Tennis, and plenty of others.

We've closed a successful investment round, have multiple investments from industry leaders, and are rapidly marching toward a Series A. We're gearing up for this rocket ride and are looking to bring some top shelf talent along with us.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage our multiple AWS environments
  • Handle code deployments in all environments
  • Perform root cause analysis for production errors
  • Deploy updates and fixes
  • Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
  • Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
  • Investigate logs and resolve technical issues
  • Design procedures for system troubleshooting, monitoring and maintenance
  • Build and maintain highly available production infrastructure
  • Configure and manage data services like AWS RDS (PostgreSQL), ElastiCache (Redis), Glue (Apache Spark), Athena (PrestoDB)
  • Identifies automation opportunities, designs, and develops automation solutions that improve DevOps operations and efficiency
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support. Works to resolve outages that may occur and performing root cause analysis post outage

Required Experience

  • At least 3 years working experience in a DevOps capacity
  • SIGNIFICANT hands-on experience with AWS services like IAM Security Policies, VPC, S3, Elastic beanstalk, CloudFormation, RDS, Elastic cache
  • Working Knowledge of AWS Management and Governance Services such as CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Config, Systems Manager
  • Bachelor’s Degree or MS in Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong Linux system administration background
  • Azure/GCP experience is a plus
  • Experience with database replication, backups, restore and data protection
  • Knowledge of or interest in IT compliance and audit readiness
  • Experience in developing Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery pipelines (CI/ CD)
  • Proficient in scripting, and Git and Git workflows

Small Project

We require a small project to start with that should take ≤ 2 hours. We want to ensure we are a good fit and that you are setup to succeed before we invest in each other.
